Blue Pacific Boating has been sailing from Marina del Rey, CA since 1989. The marina is one of the largest man-made small boat harbors in the U.S. and was specifically designed for pleasure craft.
It is a tourist destination and is surrounded by
high-rise condos, hotels, apartments, shops, and restaurants. Prevailing winds are from the West, and the climate permits us to sail year round.


Sailors can be out in the open ocean in 10 minutes, sailing locally in the Santa Monica Bay, north to Malibu, Paradise Cove and the Channel Islands or south along the coastline to Seal Beach, Newport, Dana Point and San Diego. Catalina Island is only 30 miles away on a reach both ways and a favorite trip for all sailors.

Blue Pacific Boating sailing classes teach you to sail with Confidence! All classes are taught completely "hands-on" and on modern sailboats that are 32-foot or longer and full equipped for cruising.
Our five-day CONFIDENCE SAILING CLASS is for beginning sailors and consists of 35 hours of on-board training that qualifies you to charter boats for day sails. Classes may be taken in 5 Sundays or in one week, Monday - Friday. Both ASA 101 and 103 Certifications can be obtained.

Blue Pacific Boating also offers the CONFIDENCE CRUISING CLASS. Cruise on a luxurious 36 to 47-foot Sailing Yacht for three days, to and around CATALINA or SANTA BARBARA.

This 3-day LIVE-ABOARD CLASS qualifies you to charter boats for trips to Catalina and beyond. Become certified to ASA 104 and sail with your own crew of friends to Avalon, Twin Harbors, or Emerald Bay. Catalina is waiting for you!
